Help Wanted? Not anymore.
September 15th, 2009 | by jamasta |Since July 9, 2009, the T-Wolves Blog has been inactive. Today, that horrible streak ends at 67 days as I, Jamaal Gilbert, will attempt (thrice a week) to bring you deeper into the hellish existence that is Minnesota Timberwolves basketball fandom. Hopefully that will change as the years wear on, but I’m not holding my breath.
Five years ago, I’d have been your typical happy-go-lucky NBA fan with fond memories of the Western Conference Finals and Kevin Garnett, a man that emits tenacity from his pores. Now, I’m a mangled mess of a man that’s hanging onto any vestige of hope I can find in this organization. I mean, I had to watch a lineup of Bobby Brown, Ryan Gomes, Kevin Love, Mark Madsen and Randy Foye play basketball one time last year. Next time I get an inkling that some such lineup might sneak its way into a game I’m supposed to attend, I think I’ll just whip out 30 bucks and light it on fire. But I digress.
I think writing will be therapeutic, though. We’ll laugh, we’ll cry… it’ll be the best of times and worst of times. And before I close this opening message, I just kind of wanted to give you an overview of what to expect from me this season…
- I listen to the local sports radio station KFAN. If I use schtick from one of the broadcasters, it’s not plagiarism. I honestly use these phrases in my everyday life, which I believe makes them partially mine. People steal jokes constantly, so why shouldn’t I? So I’ll probably do that from time to time.
- There will be different kinds of media on this web site, like many other blogs… YouTube, links to stuff, live blogs during Wolves games, etc. I like to keep it lively.
- I’m all about honesty. You won’t get a big stat package from me, probably ever. But you will get a heavy dose of statistically-backed opinion.
- If you write me comments, I will be happy.
- Last, I will not always talk about the Wolves. Yes, I know it’s a Wolves blog, but if Adrian Peterson runs for a 99-yard touchdown on some November, December or January Sunday, you’ll probably hear about it here.
Alright, I think that was good start. Thanks for reading, and have a lovely day.
End transmission.

Hey! I was drafted by the Wolves almost exclusively for my outlet passing ability, and if I had Michael Jordan at the receiving end of my majestic full-court rainbows, I would’ve led them to an NBA title, too! (sorry gerald glass, nothing personal).
